Job Summary
We are expanding at Grange Bakery and we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and production of a variety of baked goods and sandwiches while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to work in a fast-paced food environment in a customer-facing role.
Duties
- Be the face of the bakery when customers enter the shop
- Make sandwiches to order, provide excellent customer service and and operate the till.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including measuring, mixing, and portioning.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers and pans safely and effectively.
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in product quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
- Support the bakery manager in daily operations, including inventory management and stock rotation.
- Assist with the decoration and presentation of baked goods to meet customer expectations.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food production techniques.
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and food preparation methods.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented atmosphere.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing tasks within the kitchen.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
