Due to our current Mot Tester semi retiring, we have a position becoming available to start June 2026.
2-3 Days per week (16-24hrs) negotiable
The applicant needs to be fully qualified and up to date on Mot assessments ready to start.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal requirements, ensuring vehicles meet roadworthiness standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics to contribute to a reputable organisation dedicated to safety and quality.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards.
- Inspect vehicle components such as brakes, tyres, lights, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.
- Identify faults or issues and communicate findings clearly to customers or management.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and efficiently to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the MOT bay in a clean, organised, and safe condition at all times.
- Assist with minor repairs or adjustments when necessary, utilising hand tools and power tools as appropriate.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols during all testing procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester and mechanic.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose vehicle issues effectively.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, including manoeuvring vehicle parts or equipment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping and compliance documentation.
- Full valid driving licence is essential; additional certifications related to MOT testing are highly desirable.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This position is ideal for motivated individuals committed to vehicle safety standards and professional growth within the automotive industry.
