Qualifications are not essential for this role but are desirable. Experience of working with or caring for children aged 2 - 11 years old is essential and you will need to be someone who is dynamic, able to use your own initiative but also work effectively as part of a team and time manage your work. A knowledge and understanding of the Curiosity Approach would be desirable but not essential as training and mentoring opportunities will be made available to the successful candidate.

Location, Salary and Hours: Bishops Stortford based location. Salary and hours variable and dependent on the needs of the business, qualifications and experience of the candidate and can be agreed by mutual consent.

Night Owl Childcare Ltd
- Working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework and ensuring criteria of this framework is met at all times.
- To ensure that welfare and safety of children is promoted within the setting and that any child protection concerns are always acted upon appropriately and immediately.
- To continue a good working a good working relationship with the host school.
- To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the setting and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents involvement to promote positive partnerships with families.
- To ensure the setting is a safe environment for children, staff and others. To ensure that equipment is safe through risk assessments that are regularly reviewed, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times and fire drills are regularly practised.
- To implement any recommendations made following regulatory inspections.
- To attend any conferences, training or meetings deemed necessary for CPD and to keep up to date with current good practise.
- Adhering to the values and vision of Early Bird and Night Owl Childcare Ltd, abiding by the agreed policies and procedures to ensure provision is of the highest quality.
- Understanding and embracing the curriculum and the Curiosity Approach as the pedagogy of our settings.
- Interacting on a professional level with all colleagues and establishing and maintaining good working relationships which will promote the development and effective delivery of the curriculum and maximise children’s learning and development.
- Responsible for the pastoral care and safeguarding of the children within the cohort, ensuring that children’s safety, wellbeing and welfare are at the forefront of all you do.
Essential requirements for this role:
- Experience of working in a supervisory role with aged children aged 2 - 11 years old
- Sound understanding of child development and of children’s needs.
- Knowledge of the EYFS and ability to comply with the requirements of
the framework.
- Understanding of the Prevent Duty.
- Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
- Ability to provide and facilitate safe and creative play and learning through our curriculum and pedagogy (Curiosity Approach)

Essential requirements for this role but can be obtained through the setting:
- DBS certificate/clean criminal record
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Advanced Safeguarding Children Certificate
If successful, candidates will be signed up to Noodle Now Training and a full Induction programme will need to be completed over a 3 month period.
