Full job description

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Print Shop Operative to join our busy print and design team. This is a varied hands-on role involving customer service, quotations, sales support, print production, and general day-to-day shop operations.

The ideal candidate will be friendly, organised, willing to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Serving customers in-store, over the phone, and via email
Preparing customer quotations and processing orders
Advising customers on print products, materials, and finishing options
Operating digital print machinery and finishing equipment
Assisting with production of:
Business cards
Flyers & leaflets
Posters & banners
Clothing & promotional items
Wedding stationery and personalised products
Preparing artwork files for print (basic design knowledge beneficial)
Packing and preparing jobs for collection or delivery
Maintaining stock levels and keeping the shop organised
Supporting sales and helping identify upselling opportunities
Assisting with social media or marketing tasks when required
Ensuring all work meets company quality standards and deadlines

Skills & Experience Required

Excellent customer service and communication skills
Confident using computers and email systems
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Previous print shop, retail, or production experience beneficial but not essential
Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other design software is an advantage
