Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Accuracy Checking Technician to join our healthcare team. This role involves verifying prescriptions and medication orders to ensure precision and safety in patient care. Duties
- Carefully review and verify prescriptions against medication orders for accuracy and completeness
- Cross-check medication labels, dosages, and patient information to prevent errors
- Assist with medication administration procedures under supervision, ensuring compliance with protocols
- Support patient care activities by providing accurate medication information and guidance when necessary
- Maintain detailed records of verification processes in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals to resolve discrepancies or issues promptly
- Ensure all medication storage and handling complies with health and safety standards
- Participate in ongoing training programmes to stay updated on pharmaceutical regulations and best practices
Requirements
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar healthcare role is essential
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Strong organisational skills with an exceptional eye for detail
- Ability to work accurately under pressure within fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or related fields is preferred
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to health and safety regulations
This role is integral to ensuring the safe dispensation of medications, supporting optimal patient outcomes, and upholding the highest standards of healthcare practice.
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9am-5.30pm with an hour lunchbreak.
Pay: £14.71-£16.31 per hour
