Intake Quality Controller (QC) wanted in Bury St Edmunds

PAY: From £13.57 per hour

HOURS: 10:30 - 19:00

DAYS: Monday - Friday

Direct Table Foods is recruiting for a full-time Intake QC to join its team.

Direct Table Foods is one of the UK’s leading bacon, gammon and sausage processors. Based in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, we have a rich heritage stretching back more than 50 years and a strong vision for the future.

Role responsibilities include:

Supporting the delivery of all functional demands
Ensuring processes and procedures are followed
Supporting company efforts to raise quality standards, and improve team working and communication
Championing health and safety on site, ensuring colleagues work in a safe environment
Being commercially aware to help introduce cost reduction measures
Monitoring departmental KPIs and ensuring targets are achieved and improved upon
Ensuring the business is compliant throughout
Auditing of Quality Management System (QMS), process, GMP, fabrication and Hygiene
Verification of hygiene standards (ATP, Visual, Environmental Swabbing) and temperature control
Verifying key equipment used in the QMS, such as temperature probes, scales, salt analysis.
Investigating customer complaints, supplier non-conformances and internal non-conformances
Sample collecting, registration and sensory evaluation testing
Providing training and support, where required
Creating a food-safety culture
Liaising with support functions, as required, to support the site/business strategy
Supporting and answering team queries in a timely manner.

Knowledge, skills and experience desired:

Knowledge of HACCP and food safety
Working knowledge of computer systems, such as Word, Excel, email, PowerPoint and databases
Experience of working within a food-based manufacturing industry
Experience of working to food accreditation standards and customer codes of practice
Experience of working with diverse teams
Excellent communication skills
Internal auditor certification desired.
