The Voice Study Centre delivers high-quality online education and professional training. We utilise leading specialists from all over the world to contribute to our ongoing professional development program. As an Associate College of the University of Essex, we jointly deliver a master’s programme in Voice Pedagogy.
As we continue to grow and expand our course offerings, we are looking for a creative, motivated, and organised Junior Marketing Assistant to work alongside our existing Marketing Manager. This individual will play a key role in supporting the planning, execution, and optimisation of our marketing campaigns. This is an excellent entry-level or early-career opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills across the full marketing mix; including digital marketing, content creation, social media management, email campaigns, and market research.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, possess excellent writing skills, and have a passion for engaging with an academic and professional creative community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Social Media Management & Content Creation
- Assist in scheduling, posting, and monitoring content across our primary social media channels
- Create engaging written and visual content (graphics, basic short-form videos) to promote upcoming courses, webinars, student success stories, and research highlights.
- Monitor social media channels for student enquiries, comments, and engagement, ensuring a timely and professional response.
2. Email Marketing & Student Communications
- Support the coordination and build of regular email newsletters and promotional campaigns to our subscriber lists.
- Ensure accurate segmentation of data and clean subscriber lists.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on email performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates).
3. Website & LMS Support
- Help maintain and update the company website with accurate course information, news updates, and blog posts.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks or student-facing announcements on our learning platforms (Canvas LMS) when aligned with promotional events or webinars.
4. Market Research & Data Analysis
- Conduct basic competitor analysis and market research to identify new trends, forums, and communities within the singing and voice education sectors.
- Utilise tools (like Microsoft Excel) to log, visualize, and track student recruitment trends, campaign performance, and enquiry data.
5. Event & Webinar Coordination
- Provide administrative support for marketing short courses, virtual open days, and online professional development events.
- Help manage attendee registration lists and post-event follow-up communications.
Skills, Experience & Characteristics
Essential:
- Excellent written English with the ability to adjust communication style to suit different audiences.
- Comfortable learning new software, digital platforms, and Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and maintain close attention to detail.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel for basic data tracking, logging, and reporting.
- A proactive, "can-do" attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a growing small-business environment.
Desirable (but not mandatory):
- A degree or qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- An interest in, or familiarity with, singing, performing arts, voice science, or the higher education sector.
- Basic experience with design tools like Canva or video editing apps.
- Familiarity with tools like Mailchimp (or similar CRM/email platforms) and basic website management.
