Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Dispenser Assistant: Pharmacy Technician : ACT to support our pharmacy team in delivering exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will assist with dispensing medications, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily pharmacy activities. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience within a professional healthcare environment and contribute positively to patient wellbeing. All positions are paid, including internship roles.
Duties
- Assist qualified pharmacy technicians with dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and label medication packages in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Support patient consultations by providing information on medication usage and storage
- Maintain organised records of dispensed medications and inventory levels
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety regulations
- Respond to patient enquiries courteously and professionally, directing complex questions to qualified staff as necessary
- Support stock management, including receiving deliveries and checking expiry dates
- Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times
Experience
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
