Overview
We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator to join our Glass & Metal manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend and shape sheet metal components with precision. This role is vital in ensuring the production of high-quality fabricated parts, supporting our commitment to excellence in manufacturing processes. The ideal applicant will possess a strong understanding of fabrication techniques, mechanical knowledge, and experience working with sheet metal.
Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machinery according to specifications and technical drawings
- Adjust machine settings to achieve precise bends and angles in sheet metal components
- Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on press brake equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Utilise hand tools and tooling to assist in fabrication and assembly processes
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines efficiently
Requirements
- Proven experience with fabrication, grinding, welding, and sheet metal work
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to press brake operation and maintenance
- Proficiency with hand tools, tooling, and basic measuring instruments
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for measurements and adjustments
- Knowledge of assembly processes related to fabricated parts
- Familiarity with sheet metal properties and handling techniques
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills:
· Experience of running and operating other CNC machinery
Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per year
