Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Truck & Trailer Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of commercial vehicles, including lorries and trailers. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and associated equipment.
- Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical diagrams; perform repairs accordingly.
- Carry out fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly tasks to repair or modify vehicle components.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators and forklifts to complete repairs.
- Repair or replace mechanical parts, electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, and structural components of vehicles.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts utilised.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with the training of junior team members when required.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs or maintenance issues.
Experience
- Proven experience in vehicle repair specialising in heavy-duty trucks or trailers.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding, soldering, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, equipment repair, and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with operating power tools, hand tools, excavators, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.
- Previous work involving electrical troubleshooting and system diagnostics is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused approach. Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
