We are seeking a Wind Tunnel Technician to join our team at our new state-of-the-art wind tunnel facility in Silverstone. This is a hands-on technical role at the heart of our aerodynamic testing operations, with a particular focus on electronics, control systems, and data acquisition. Understanding and experience in these areas are a higher priority than experience of working in wind tunnels. You will work closely with the wind tunnel manager and senior Dynamique staff to deliver a world class customer wind tunnel facility across motorsport, automotive, athlete and aircraft testing projects. Key Responsibilities
- Operate the wind tunnel facility safely and efficiently, ensuring continuous availability and reliability throughout test programmes
- Take ownership of wind tunnel electronics, control systems and data acquisition infrastructure, including routine maintenance, fault-finding and repair
- Configure, calibrate and validate instrumentation including balances, pressure scanners, and model positioning systems prior to and during test sessions
- Develop and maintain control system programmes and test sequences, with a focus on repeatability and data integrity
- Collaborate closely with aerodynamicists to plan and execute test sessions, adapting efficiently to evolving test requirements
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including calibration records, maintenance logs and test procedures
- Support the continuous improvement of tunnel capabilities, including integration of new instrumentation and automation
- Uphold and champion safe working practices in line with facility health & safety requirements
What You'll Bring
- A degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or a closely related discipline
- A passion for motorsports and cutting edge engineering
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with electronics and PLC’s (Beckhoff TwinCAT would be an advantage)
- Proficiency with data acquisition systems and a thorough understanding of instrumentation calibration and validation
- Experience with the Pi Diablo system, or comparable DAQ and control platforms, would be a distinct advantage
- Practical problem-solving ability with the confidence to diagnose and resolve technical issues under time pressure
- A meticulous approach to data quality, documentation and test repeatability
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate confidently within a multidisciplinary team

This position is fully on-site at our Silverstone wind tunnel facility. It is vital that you can commit to on-site working before applying. Flexibility to support test sessions outside standard hours will be required at times. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
