About the Role
At Amelia Trust, we deliver a range of educational and engagement programmes tailored for disadvantaged and vulnerable young people. We are looking to recruit an Animal Care Tutor to join our GROW programme, as well as assisting other youth-oriented projects.
Duties include planning and delivering sessions and creating a supportive and therapeutic environment. With experience of engaging challenging and vulnerable young people in interactive sessions in animal care, we need someone with excellent interpersonal skills, who can motivate others and act on their own initiative.

This role is for 30 hours/4 days a week (Tuesdays - Fridays) and you will be based on site at the Amelia Trust Farm.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:
- To prepare and deliver daily sessions for disadvantaged and vulnerable people attending the GROW programme with a focus on animal care.
- To support, guide and encourage young people to achieve the goals set in their Individual Development Plan.
- To create a therapeutic and supportive environment for young people.
- To assess relevant units and qualifications as part of the GROW programme.
- To plan and deliver the Holiday Project.
- To ensure all activities with disadvantaged and vulnerable people are assessed for risks and are appropriately recorded.
- To ensure outcomes for young people, referral organisations and funders are achieved.
- To contribute to end of term and any other required reports.
- Working with other members of the GROW team, to plan timetables each week for the GROW programme.
- To ensure that all required documentation is completed such as safeguarding reports.
- To ensure that delivery areas and any associated equipment are kept clean, safe and tidy.
- To deliver animal interaction sessions with the general public during school holidays ensuring the safety of both animals and people.
- To carry out weekly Health and Safety checks as directed and make good any identified risks.
- To ensure compliance with the provisions of the Health and Safety Act 1974 and other relevant legislation.
- To undertake such other tasks as may be required by the CEO.

Pay: £24,596.00-£27,095.00 per year
