Punk Against Poverty is a Torbay-based social enterprise supporting local people facing crisis and hardship. We raise funds through our charity shop, community drop-ins, outreach activity, and fundraising events.
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do — and we need a strong, confident, organised and people-focused leader to help our volunteer team thrive while ensuring our shop runs smoothly and successfully.
About the Role
We are looking for a Training & Volunteer Recruitment Lead to take the lead on recruiting, supporting and supervising volunteers across our charity shop and wider community activity.
This role is ideal for someone with experience managing a charity shop or leading a volunteer team in a busy environment.
This role is initially funded for 9 months through The National Lottery Community Fund. We will actively seek further funding opportunities, however applicants should apply on the understanding that this is a fixed-term 9 month contract.
You will be responsible for ensuring the shop is fully staffed, rotas are covered, volunteers are supported and motivated, and standards are consistently high. You’ll also support volunteers at community events, fundraising activities and outreach sessions.
This is a hands-on role. You will be based mainly in our shop and will need to feel confident managing day-to-day issues such as rota gaps, volunteer reliability, customer service standards, and difficult conversations when needed.
