Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong welding and fabrication expertise, with a focus on TIG welding and sheet metal work. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise mechanical knowledge and hand tools in a dynamic environment, contributing to the creation and assembly of high-quality metal components. Applicants should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Perform TIG welding on various materials, specialising in Aluminium welding techniques
Fabricate components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised welding equipment
Work with sheet metal to cut, shape, and assemble parts according to technical drawings and specifications
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with fabrication processes and equipment
Assist in the assembly of finished products, ensuring precision and adherence to quality standards
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
Read technical drawings and perform basic measurements using appropriate tools such as rulers or calipers
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality expectations

Qualifications

Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of TIG /MIG welding standards
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Knowledge of sheet metal work, including cutting, bending, and assembling processes
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
Experience in assembly processes is desirable but not essential
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail
Previous experience with welding or fabrication in an industrial setting is preferred
Driving license preferred
