Purchase Ledger & Office Administrator

Chelford Farm Supplies is seeking a reliable and organised Purchase Ledger & Office Administrator to join our busy and fast-paced Accounts Department.

This varied role combines core purchase ledger responsibilities with general office administration duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and can confidently manage multiple tasks.

Established over 40 years ago, Chelford Farm Supplies is a family-owned business located in the heart of Cheshire. Since opening in 1975, the company has built a strong reputation as one of Cheshire’s leading suppliers of equestrian clothing and footwear, farm supplies and feed, garden and forestry machinery, and shooting equipment and clothing.

Key Responsibilities

Processing, matching, and filing supplier invoices accurately
Liaising with purchasing, goods-in teams, and suppliers to resolve invoice queries efficiently
Reconciling supplier statements to SAP
Carrying out daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Ensuring invoices are correctly coded for nominal ledger and VAT purposes
Verifying all invoices are properly authorised and paid within agreed payment terms
Maintaining accurate supplier account records, including contact and banking details
Completing weekly payment runs accurately and within deadlines
Ensuring all supporting documentation is attached and verified before payments are made, including purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier details
Assisting with general office administration duties

Skills & Experience Required

Previous purchase ledger/accounts experience
Experience completing bank reconciliations
Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
Excellent written and spoken English
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
Resilient, proactive, and organised approach to work
Previous experience using SAP is preferred but not essential

Working Hours

3 days per week:
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
9:00am – 5:00pm

Pay: From £13.50 per hour
