Company Overview:

We are a thriving dental practice, located in the heart of Edinburgh. We are committed to providing exceptional dental care to our patients. Our practice prides itself in creating a warm and welcoming environment for both staff and patients alike.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a friendly and organised Dental Receptionist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing 5 star customer service and supporting the smooth operation of our front desk. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate that is willing to work 08:50am-17:05 Monday to Friday (this can be negotiable), with the potential of additional hours when required by the business. Our phone lines are open from 9.30am - 4.30pm, allowing for any first thing or end of day tasks to be completed without being disturbed by calls.

Responsibilities:

Greet and welcome patients in a warm and courteous manner
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar efficiently
Verify patient information and insurance details accurately
Process patient payments and handle billing enquiries
Maintain a tidy and organised reception area
Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, scanning and data entry
Work alongside, and assist our Treatment Coordinator when needed
Communicate effectively with patients, dental staff, and external contacts
Handle enquiries and provide information about the services we offer
Assist with patient registration and medical history documentation
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a seamless patient experience

Requirements:

Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role, preferably in a healthcare setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and dental EXACT software (preferred, but not required)
Ability to multi task and prioritise tasks efficiently
Have a professional demeanor and a positive attitude
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures (preferred, but not required)
