As demand continues to grow, we're looking for a Heating & Renewables Surveyor to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced heating engineer who's ready to step into a more technical, customer-focused position, designing heating systems, carrying out site surveys and providing tailored solutions for homeowners across Cornwall.
Working from our office in Scorrier, you'll be responsible for surveying properties, advising customers, producing accurate quotations and supporting projects from initial enquiry through to installation.
The Role
You'll visit domestic properties throughout Cornwall to survey, design and quote for:
- Air source heat pump installations
- Boiler replacements (Oil, LPG and Gas)
- Full central heating system upgrades
- Hot water cylinder replacements
- Radiator and underfloor heating systems
- Renewable heating solutions
Working closely with our office team and installation engineers, you'll ensure every project is designed correctly, quoted accurately and delivered to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed site surveys
- Meet customers in their homes to understand their requirements
- Design heating systems and recommend the most suitable solution
- Prepare accurate quotations using our estimating software
- Present proposals clearly and professionally to customers
- Ensure all designs comply with current regulations and manufacturer requirements
- Liaise with installation teams throughout each project
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience from first appointment through to handover
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a heating engineer
- Strong knowledge of domestic heating systems
- Experience with boilers and/or air source heat pumps
- Good understanding of plumbing and heating design
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience carrying out heat loss calculations
- Knowledge of MCS standards
- Experience designing renewable heating systems
- Experience using surveying or estimating software
