Ecommerce Executive
Reports to: eCommerce Manager
Location: Glasgow
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week
Role Overview
Carbeth Plants is an expanding, ambitious eCommerce business specialising in indoor & outdoor plants and gardening products across the UK.
As we continue to grow rapidly, we’re seeking a hands-on, detail-orientated eCommerce Executive to join our team and help to support and drive our trading efforts across digital, performance, and onsite channels.
This is a broad, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants exposure across all areas of digital trading and online retail. You will play a key role in maintaining, improving, and expanding our presence across our web platform while contributing to ongoing marketing, performance reporting, and optimisation initiatives.
Do you take pride in ensuring every customer order is accurate, on time, and hassle-free?
Have you supported day-to-day trading operations to help deliver a smooth, reliable and innovative on-line experience to your customers?
If so, this could be the perfect opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive day-to-day trading across ecommerce channels, ensuring product visibility, availability, and presentation are optimised for commercial success
- Use data to identify trading opportunities, drive revenue growth, and shape product, pricing, and promotional strategies
- Responsible for end-to-end creation and management of product listings, including writing compelling product descriptions, optimising images, setting accurate pricing, and ensuring all product information is up-to-date and aligned with brand standards.
- Own the visual merchandising strategy — from collection structure to homepage layouts — with a sharp focus on improving customer journey, conversion, and AOV
- Maintain a tight feedback loop on product performance: regularly analyse trends, sales velocity, exit rates, and search behaviour to support commercial decisions
- Collaborate with the Ecommerce Manager and Marketing teams to plan and execute seasonal campaigns, new product launches, and cross-channel promotions
- Work closely with buying and customer experience teams to ensure stock availability aligns with commercial priorities and that top performers are fully supported
- Coordinate and QA promotional setup, banners, landing pages, and homepage features across digital platforms
- Monitor competitor activity across pricing, promotion, and assortment — feeding insights into weekly trading reports
- Continuously contribute to improving the onsite experience, identifying opportunities for UX, CRO, and merchandising enhancements
- Support content and email planning to ensure commercial priorities are reflected in outbound marketing
We're Looking For
- Previous experience in ecommerce trading, visual merchandising, or digital content management
- Confident with data and metrics (Google Analytics, Shopify reports, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail, with a passion for presentation and accuracy
- Commercially aware and KPI-driven — motivated by performance
- Highly organised and able to work at pace on multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Experience with ecommerce CMS platforms
- Working knowledge of merchandising tools, data dashboards or basic reporting
- Background in retail, trading or product-led ecommerce preferred
- Intermediate Excel/Sheets skills
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Shopify and Marketplace channels
- Experience with multi channel ecommerce.
- Background in retail, trading or product-led ecommerce preferred
