Mechanical Design Engineer

Join Red Bull Powertrains, where we’re revolutionising power unit technology to drive the next era of Formula 1 success. In a rapidly changing regulatory environment, you will be required to apply physics from first principles and knowledge of cutting-edge technology to create high-performance PU hardware on the Internal Combustion side of the powertrain. We’re looking for 3 people to join the team!

Key responsibilities of our Mechanical Design Engineers:

Delivering Engineering solutions to the agreed specification, program plan and cost.
Investigating, containing and resolving faults to ensure there is no negative impact to the running of PUs.
Creating, collating, and communicating the Engineering direction to the key stake holders.
Creating and releasing detailed engineering models and technical drawings using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
Removing mechanical limitations to performance development and deployment.
Actively contributing to the team’s and departments development.

Essential competencies for our Mechanical Design Engineers:

Previous experience in developing detailed requirements from an Engineering scope.
Competence in using one of the main CAD packages to produce 3D models and 2D Engineering drawings.
Working experience in delivering Engineering direction when presented with imperfect data
Mechanical (or similar discipline) Engineering degree or equivalent qualification or experience
Experience of successful fault investigation, containment, and rectification
Experience in designing for manufacture to improve quality, reduce cost and reduce Leadtime without sacrificing performance
Designing from clean sheet using first principals.
