Music Producer / Recording Engineer – Studio Development
Job Summary
This is a hands-on role combining studio engineering, artist support, client experience, business development, and day-to-day studio operations. The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial Producer/Engineer who can help deliver high-quality recording sessions while also playing an active role in generating new clients, increasing bookings, and strengthening the studio’s presence within the local music scene.
As the Studio Director will be overseeing the business remotely, this position requires someone reliable, proactive, and confident taking ownership of both session delivery and commercial growth.
Duties
- Run professional recording and production sessions with artists
- Prepare sessions, manage studio workflow, and maintain a high-quality client experience
- Support clients from enquiry through to booking, session delivery, and follow-up
- Help convert enquiries into confirmed studio bookings
- Build strong client relationships that encourage repeat work and referrals
- Contribute to new client generation through outreach, follow-up, content ideas, and local artist engagement
- Support day-to-day studio operations, including room readiness, equipment care, and issue reporting
- Work closely with the Studio Director to improve services, systems, and the overall client journey
- Help identify opportunities to increase bookings, improve retention, and grow the studio commercially
Experience
- Proven experience in music production, recording, or studio engineering
- Confidence working directly with artists in a professional studio environment
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to client relationships
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently
- Commercial awareness and an interest in helping the studio grow
- Experience with lead follow-up, artist development, content, marketing, or client acquisition is desirable
- An active interest in Manchester’s independent music scene
- Ambition to develop a meaningful longer-term role within the studio
- Ability to utilise and integrate their own core recording equipment into existing infrastructure.
