Full job description

JOB TITLE: Joiner

RESPONSIBLE TO: Joinery Production Supervisor

HOURS: Full time Mon-Fri 0800 -1630 (1530 finish on Fridays) – 39 hour week

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

You will be manufacturing a range of bespoke timber products with a strong focus on windows and doors in a machine led factory. Much of your work will be based around manufacturing a premium door range as part of a team, working to a production schedule. On rare occasions you may be needed to help with work on-site to rectify defects, help with installs or survey for installations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

Tier 2 Competencies

Manufacture be-spoke timber products from scratch following drawings and specification, with assisted guidance.
Able to assemble and glaze under supervision.
Understand and able to safely use all woodworking machinery including adjusting to suit.
Consistently accurate, high standard of finish to all timber products manufactured.
Achieve an output consistent with the group average without compromising on quality standards.
Carryout small repairs to timber products on-site
Complete all company documentation in line with company procedures.
Promote the company in a positive manner at all times with a friendly, positive, customer focused attitude.

Tier 3 Competencies

Carry out surveys on site taking dimensions and related information for manufacture and installation.
Able to fault find and offer problem solving solutions to complex issues on site.
Able to train and improve others in their joinery skill sets and assist others in manufacturing
Manufacture multiple jobs in one batch each with different specifications
Able to produce more complex joinery- E.g curved work, stairs ,box sash
Able to assemble and glaze all joinery items including low voltage electrical installations on doors
A detailed knowledge of the wood working machines to enable their service and maintenance.
Paint spraying to an exceptionally high standard.

Production Line Leader Competencies

Check others work for quality and accuracy and oversee a factory production line reporting to the Joinery Production Supervisor.
Be on hand for any day-to-day operational needs for team members, always with a helpful, positive and motivational attitude.
Provide training and support to shop floor team members to help develop and improve their skills.
Monitor team members general attitude to work, change and willingness to help out when needed, offering opinion and ideas for improvement to the Joinery Production Supervisor.
Monitor team members output reporting regularly to the Joinery Production Supervisor.
Provide cover for the Joinery Production Supervisor as and when required ensuring business continuity is maintained.

KEY SKILLS

Basic reading and writing skills.
Attention to detail with an eye for a high-quality finish.
Able to work alone or as part of a team.
Works in a clean and organised manner.
Excellent organisational skills and good time keeping.
