Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sign Installer/Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, fitting, and maintaining various types of signage across multiple locations. This role requires physical dexterity, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure that all signage is installed accurately and efficiently. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in construction, design, or visual communication to develop their skills within a professional environment.
This is to work on a self employed basis, work is in abundance and the right candidate will be kept in work all year round, with extra hours available and great pay
Responsibilities
- Install and fit a variety of signs including illuminated, vinyl, and structural signage on different surfaces such as walls, poles, and buildings.
- Measure and mark installation sites accurately to ensure proper alignment and positioning of signage.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively during installation processes.
- Collaborate with clients and project managers to understand specific requirements and site conditions prior to installation.
- Conduct site surveys to assess installation environments and identify potential challenges or hazards.
- Perform routine maintenance or repairs on existing signage as required.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and report progress to supervisors regularly.
Requirements
Must hold Valid CSCS card
Must hold full UK driving licence
PASMA, IPAF and other related training certificates would be an advantage
- Proven experience in sign fitting or a related construction or installation is essential
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects safely and work at heights when necessary.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in measuring and aligning signage accurately.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely.
- Valid driver’s licence is essential for site travel
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions.
