We are looking for an Operative to join our asphalt/Quarry team at Halkyn Quarry, Halkyn Quarry, Pant-y-Pwll Dwr, Pentre Halkyn, Holywell, Flintshire, CH8 8HP.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager/Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will make sure that the daily operation of static and mobile plant is being operated to the highest standards of safety and have a “hands on” role to ensure the timeliest and cost-effective production of all materials produced on site.
The multi skilled role will involve the operation of the asphalt plant (mixer), driving mobile plant, loading shovel, maintenance of stock bays and the yard and daily reporting whilst working as part of a team. Comprehensive training will be provided to maximise individual potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and actively promote CEMEX’s H&S Standards
- Review equipment and production conditions at all times.
- Ensure that plant availability is maximised
- Ensure a quality operation and materials that meet customers’ demands.
- Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained within the department.
Skills Required:
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of an aggregate or asphalt production environment or within a similar role/industry. They will also:
- Ideally have a good understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures associated with site operations.
- As a minimum, have training and qualifications for operating Mobile Plant (Preferred: Loading Shovel)
- Be an effective team player and communicator that can motivate and inspire other individuals to engage and comply with business policies, targets, goals and standards.
- Ability to work within a extremely busy team focussed environment.
- Fitting skills and mechanical experience within a production environment would be an advantage.
Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
