About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and hardworking dog lover to join our team as a full-time Dog Grooming Assistant/Dog Prep Technician! This is a fantastic opportunity to embark on an exciting new career and develop your skills.
You will be trained how to prep dogs to the highest standard for our groomers – this includes bathing, drying, brushing, combing, de-matting, trimming nails and cleaning ears as well as additional grooming treatments such as teeth cleaning and blueberry facials.
Experience working in grooming salon would be a plus but at least a year of previous experience of working with animals or in a similar environment is essential (please note this does not include looking after your own/friend's/family's pets).
Key Responsibilities

- Brush and prepare coats ready for grooming.
- Support groomers with handling dogs where required.
- Help keep dogs calm, comfortable and safe during their time in the salon.
- Clean and maintain the grooming area, tables, baths, equipment and tools.
- Follow salon hygiene, health and safety, and animal welfare procedures.
- Monitor dogs for any signs of stress, discomfort, skin issues, matting or parasites, and report concerns to the groomer or manager.
- Help with laundry, restocking, cleaning and general salon organisation.
- Support the team during busy periods.
- Provide a kind, calm and professional experience for every dog in our care.
- Have a positive approach to handling dogs and an interest in learning about dog behaviour and how you can apply this knowledge to dog grooming.
- Work well under pressure – we operate a busy salon and often have multiple dogs in a short space of time
- The drive and determination to work well as part of a busy team and under your own initiative.
