We are looking to further expansion and are looking for someone to fill a Drainage engineer role with us.
Established in 1977, Drainrod Ltd is a family run drainage contractor undertaking all aspects of drainage repairs and maintenance for the domestic, commercial, and industrial markets. Working in both the private and public sector we have developed a wealth of equipment, skills, and experience to become one of South Wales’ leading contractors.
The role will entail operating one of our Vanpacks to respond to emergency and scheduled calls, and being a second man on HGV work. This includes but isn't limited to, operating specialist heavy machinery equipped to HGV wagons and Vans, Out of hours works and emergency response, High pressure water jetting, CCTV drainage surveys, pipe repairs. As each day is varied by both job and location: you will have to respond to changing events and solve problems in real time. You will be fixing external and internal blockages and drainage issues, keeping in touch with the office, and making recommendations for further works where necessary. Groundswork experience is beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine drainage unblocking tasks promptly and efficiently.
- Operate high-pressure jetting equipment to clear blockages effectively.
- Conduct inspections and diagnose drainage issues to determine the best course of action.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to identify and resolve drainage problems.
- Collaborate with team members to provide efficient and effective drainage solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and inquiries.
- Remain flexible with scheduling to accommodate emergency call-outs and changing work demands.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Drainage Engineer or similar role.
- Knowledge of drainage systems, including identification and resolution of common issues.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to business needs, including on-call duties.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- The role involves working within schools and other sensitive environments. Successful applicants will be required to pass an Enhanced DBS check and maintain DBS clearance throughout their employment
- Health and safety awareness with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.Any groundswork experience or pipe lining is advantageous.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
