Full job description

We are looking for a highly organised and exoerienced Legal / Paralegal Administrator to join our real estate property management team.

This role would be suitable for someone who has completed a law degree, legal studies qualification, paralegal course, or similar legal background. The most important requirements are strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to understand and manage legal and property documents.

This is an important role within the business, as property companies can lose money, miss opportunities, or face unnecessary risk if leases, deadlines and legal documents are not tracked properly.

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining and updating the lease register
Maintaining legal compliance with property related matters
Helping with conveyancing enquiries
Following up closely on rent arrears with tenants
Taking legal action and seeking County Court judgements against tenants
Bankruptcy proceedings
Tracking lease start dates, expiry dates and renewal dates
Monitoring break dates and rent review dates
Tracking tenant deposits and key lease obligations
Keeping records of licences, assignments, lease variations and other legal documents
Organising signed leases and legal documents in digital and physical folders
Liaising with solicitors, tenants and internal team members
Assisting with the preparation of basic Heads of Terms
Chasing missing documents, signatures and outstanding information
Alerting the Asset Manager / Property Manager ahead of important deadlines
Supporting the team with general legal and property administration

Candidate Requirements

Law degree, prior legal experience, paralegal qualification
Previous experience is essential
Strong interest in property law, leases and commercial property
Excellent organisation and attention to detail
Confident reading and working with legal documents
Ability to track deadlines and maintain accurate records
Good written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, reliable and able to follow matters through properly
