Job Overview
Metropolitan Security Services are seeking a number of vigilant and dedicated Store Detectives to join our security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring store premises to prevent theft, ensure safety, and maintain a secure shopping environment. This role offers an opportunity to utilise surveillance skills and contribute to the safety of staff and customers alike. The position is paid and requires a proactive approach to security management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular surveillance of store areas using CCTV equipment and physical patrols to deter theft and identify suspicious activity.
- Monitor customer and staff behaviour discreetly, ensuring adherence to store policies.
- Write detailed reports on incidents, suspicious activities, or security breaches accurately and promptly.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, including administering first aid when necessary, until professional help arrives.
- Collaborate with store management and law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents.
- Maintain a visible presence in key areas of the store to promote safety and security awareness among staff and customers.
Requirements
- Proven experience in surveillance, security, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong report writing skills with attention to detail.
- First aid certification or the willingness to obtain training prior to employment.
- Excellent observational skills with the ability to recognise potential security threats swiftly.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to document incidents clearly and accurately.
- Must be physically fit, alert, and able to work flexible hours as required by the store’s operational hours. This role is ideal for individuals committed to ensuring a safe shopping environment through proactive security measures and attentive surveillance practices.
Pay: £14.35 per hour
