Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls into the category of requiring a DBS check (standard).

About the role:

The Cellular Pathology Department at Hemel Hempstead Hospital is looking to recruit a HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to work within the Histopathology and Diagnostic Cytopathology sections of the laboratory for a 12-month fixed-term contract.

We are seeking a motivated individual to work within a busy, but friendly department and to participate in all activities required to run an efficient, high-quality service.

The Cellular Pathology department at Hemel Hempstead processes around 46,000 histology and 3,700 cytology samples a year as well as running a busy Andrology service to the local population.

The post-holder will be expected to rotate through all sections of the histopathology department to include routine histology, specimen dissection and immunohistochemistry, as well as diagnostic cytopathology.
