ABOUT CPMS
Working throughout the UK rail network, CPMS provides a diverse range of infrastructure support services including – railway station platform construction, maintenance and refurbishment works. We also undertake bridgeworks, station roofs and canopies, Civils, M&E and HVAC services. Building maintenance and refurbishment is carried out in stations, depots, signal boxes, lineside buildings, arches, carparks and roadways. Our clients include Network Rail, Train Operating Companies, Freight Operating Companies, Heritage Railways and Light Rail.
About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join our team in Elderslie. In this role, you will support the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor by preparing high quality tenders, estimates, and quotations for both framework contracts and competitive bids.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of payment schedules to clients for current reactive and PPM contracts
- Attend site visits to undertake on-site measurement and scoping, to enable cost estimates/quotations to be produced
- Preparation of quotations/estimates
- Assisting with the preparation of reports for the management team
- Financial monitoring of projects, including tracking changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly
- Ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
- HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, or relevant experience
- Ability to read architectural/engineering drawings and have an excellent knowledge of construction processes, along with excellent numerical and IT skills
- Practiced knowledge of standard construction contracts and regulations, as well as health and safety matters
- A broad range of building and communication skills, along with sound commercial awareness
- Enthusiasm and the ability to think in an innovative way
- Methodical and logical approach to problem solving
- A good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software.
- Hold a full, clean UK driving licence
