Production / Machine Operator (Monday–Friday, 2pm–10pm shift) – Warminster
Join
Lyons Seafoods (Labeyrie Fine Foods UK) as a Production Operator on our Monday–Friday 2pm–10pm shift. This is a permanent, full-time role in a fast-moving production environment, operating modern machinery to help produce our high-quality seafood products. We are expanding our Warminster team and seeking practical, hands-on individuals who want stability, training, and a chance to develop new skills.
Key Details:
- Shift Pattern: 2:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours perweek). No rotating shifts – enjoy consistent afternoon working with your mornings and weekends free.
- Salary: £14.61 per hour (starting Level 1 rate for 2–10pm shift), plus overtime opportunities.
- Contract: Permanent employment, directly with the company (not agency work), offering long-term job security and progression potential.
- Location: Lyons Seafoods, Warminster (BA12). Free on-site parking and easy access from local areas (e.g. Westbury, Trowbridge).
About the Role:
As a Production Operator, you’ll be working in a busy production line environment, using and monitoring manufacturing machinery to process and pack our seafood products. You will:
- Operate and monitor processing and packing machines on the production line, ensuring smooth running and minimal downtime.
- Carry out quality checks and maintain food safety standards (full training provided).
- Rotate through various tasks (e.g. machine operation, line packing, product checks) to keep work varied and engaging.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow health & safety procedures at all times.
- Work as part of a team to meet production targets and support colleagues on the shift.
This is a physical, active role on a chilled food production floor – you’ll be on your feet, moving and lifting throughout your shift (with breaks, of course). We provide all necessary protective workwear and PPE to keep you safe and comfortable.
Who:
We’re looking to hear from reliable, hard-working team players with a can-do attitude. The must-haves include:
- Manufacturing or Production Experience – Essential: You have worked in a factory, manufacturing, or production setting before, operating machinery or equipment (industry sector is flexible – food, FMCG, packaging, automotive, etc.). You’re comfortable around automated machines and production processes.
- Practical & Hands-On: You enjoy working with machines and tools, and you’re quick to learn how equipment works. You can troubleshoot basic issues or know when to call for assistance.
- Reliability & Teamwork: You understand that consistent attendance is critical in a shift environment – your team counts on you to be there on time every day. You work well with others, communicate clearly, and help maintain a positive team spirit.
- Attitude & Willingness to Learn: You bring a positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills. Full training is provided, so if you have the right mindset and some relevant experience, we will invest in your development.
- Health & Safety Conscious: You can follow standard operating procedures and instructions, and you take workplace safety and food hygiene seriously.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Pay: Starting hourly rate £14.61 for the 2–10pm shift, with annual pay reviews and when fully training the potential to move to level 2 at £16.01 per hour. Paid overtime available at enhanced rates.
- Full Training & Development: Comprehensive training, including job-specific skills, machine operation training, food safety certifications, and ongoing coaching. We also offer opportunities to gain new qualifications (e.g. forklift truck license) as you grow with us.
- Benefits Package: 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), company pension scheme (with contributions 6% from the Company and 3% or above from you), and free life assurance. We care about our team’s wellbeing – you’ll have access to a Health Cash Plan (reimbursing routine health expenses), an employee discount platform, free hot drinks in the canteen, and our on-site staff shop.
- Stable, Supportive Environment: Lyons Seafoods is an established local employer with a friendly, inclusive culture. You’ll be part of a dedicated shift team where new ideas and personal growth are encouraged. Many of our operators have progressed to higher-skilled roles – we promote from within. If you’re looking for a permanent role with long-term prospects, this is it.
- Community & Recognition: We value our employees and celebrate achievements. You’ll join a company that believes in teamwork, training, and trust – and has a strong reputation in the community for valuing its people (we’ve been in Warminster for 60+ years!).
This is an opportunity to build a career with us, gain new skills, and be part of a growing team in a successful food manufacturing business.
