Millfield Prep School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 to 13, located in Glastonbury, Somerset. We cater for around 550 pupils and staff each day, providing a core feeding offer of breakfast, lunch, and supper, alongside a vibrant hospitality service.
This is a 52-week operation running 7 days a week, with additional weekend residential activity for boarders, creating a varied and engaging working environment. A key benefit of this location is its extensive campus setting and outstanding facilities, set in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
This role operates on a 5 days out of 7 rota basis, including some weekend working (primarily during term time), balanced with:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Supervisor to join our catering team at our prestigious Millfield Prep School site in Glastonbury.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive school environment, leading a friendly team and helping deliver high-quality, nutritious meals to pupils and staff.
You will ideally have experience working in a fast-paced catering or hospitality environment and be confident supporting and motivating a team during busy service periods.
As a hands-on Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards, and creating a positive dining experience for our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily running of the hospitality and service operation
- Support and lead the team during meal service
- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness
- Maintain food safety, allergen compliance, and health & safety standards
- Assist with serving food, making drinks, replenishing counters, and clearing down
- Monitor stock levels and help minimise waste
About You:
- Previous experience in catering or hospitality (supervisory experience desirable)
- A positive, proactive attitude with strong teamwork skills
- Passion for delivering great customer service
- Well organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
