Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled PSV/HGV Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving various equipment and systems related to PSV/HGV operations. This role requires a strong technical background, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a dynamic environment. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of PSV equipment and associated machinery.
- Perform fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly tasks as required for repairs and modifications.
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams to diagnose faults and implement solutions.
- Repair or replace faulty components, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and technical specifications.
- Assist in the installation of new systems or equipment upgrades, including electrical and mechanical components.
- Undertake heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts utilised.
Requirements
- Proven experience in HGV/PSV engineering.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with practical skills in maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in engineering or technical trades are preferred but not essential
Company Van will be provided after an initial period.
Day to day tasks will include performing 6 weekly inspections, ad hoc fault diagnostics and MOT preparation of vehicles.
Desirable/Not Essential: PSV Licence, IRTEC qualification.
