Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our Metabolism team at our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain familiarity and competency with general laboratory procedures including balances, pipettes, volumetric glassware, pH meters, reagent preparation, and analytical solution preparation
Ensure good housekeeping: correct labelling, accurate raw data recording, disposal of expired reagents, and maintaining tidy storage areas
Perform laboratory waste disposal, including sharps and chemical waste
Maintain bulk stocks of commonly used reagents (e.g., CMC, MARG emulsion, mobile phases)
Maintain stock levels of consumables and critical reagents; reorder when required.
Receive and sort deliveries, reporting discrepancies promptly
Support Test Article Receipt and Test Article Stock Checks in collaboration with Study Supervisors
Perform fridge and freezer defrosts, cleaning, decontamination, and inventories
Perform routine metrology of pipettes and ensure scheduled checks of thermometers, check weights, etc
Deliver internal post to departmental staff in a timely manner

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) precisely
Good organisational and time‑management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
Any prior experience using laboratory equipment and basic analytical techniques is advantageous
