D & M Design & Fabrication Ltd is a successful and fast paced sheet metal subcontract business based near Ripon, North Yorkshire. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trainee or Experienced Press Brake Operator to expand our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in sheet metal fabrication and engineering. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to safely operate CNC press brake machinery under supervision.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Machine setup, tooling changes and material handling.
- Produce metal components to specified dimensions and quality standards.
- Carry out routine quality checks using measuring equipment.
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of press brakes, tooling and work area.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
- MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORT AND VALID UK DRIVING LICENCE, DUE TO OUR RURAL LOCATION.
- Good attitude and willing to learn.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Physically capable of handling metal components safely.
Desirable:
- Previous manufacturing, engineering or workshop experience
- Experience using hand tools
- Understanding of engineering drawings
Rate of Pay negotiable depending on experience
