Prime Role
To support the team in the development of innovative products within Sterling. Ensuring designs are able to be manufactured efficiently to a high quality. Taking concept designs and engineering them including prototypes. Supporting the development of automation, in-house machinery and jig development:
- 3D modelling and drawing of components and assemblies, including technical layout drawings, electrical diagrams and managing bill of materials
- Design improvements, working with suppliers and operations team to decrease costs and reduce labour hours through revised design
- Maintaining product technical files with relevant information
- Designing jigs for manually welded and robot welded assemblies
- Creating nest program files for automated laser cutter and 3D bend programs for press brake
- Laser cutter and press brake maintenance, support and set-up
- Support and troubleshooting of manufacturing and assembly processes
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Mechanical Design
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor
- Good IT skills

Other Experience
- Experience of welding and fabricating steel - able to weld
- Operating and setup of laser cutter and press brake
- Programming and operating industrial robots or Cobot robots
- Jig design and manufacture
Pay & Benefits
- This position offers a salary of £28-38k per annum. Other benefits are as follows:
