Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly those with an interest in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant or hotel environments. Prior experience is not essential but is considered advantageous. The role is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills in a professional kitchen setting.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas within the kitchen
Supporting the organisation of stock and ingredients to ensure efficient workflow
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
Ensuring all health and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times during daily operations
Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of food

Qualifications

Previous experience in a hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory
Knowledge of food preparation and cooking processes is advantageous
Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards preferred
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
