Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing stock, handling materials, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a fast-paced warehouse environment. Previous warehouse experience and a forklift license are advantageous, along with familiarity with warehouse work. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in materials handling, stock management, and logistics processes.

Duties

Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, including forklifts where qualified
Pick and pack orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring timely delivery
Manage stock levels through regular stocktaking and replenishment activities
Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations
Assist with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and labelling
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Support with basic mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance
Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and meet operational targets

Qualifications

Proven experience in warehousing or materials handling roles is preferred
Valid forklift licence is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for qualified candidates
Ability to perform heavy lifting (plasterboards/powders) safely and efficiently
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks
