Job Title: Domiciliary Care Assistant/ Support Workers
Location: Ipswich
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time

Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistant/ Support worker to provide high-quality support to individuals in their own homes or in secure homes across Cockermouth (CA13). The ideal candidate will help clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life while ensuring their safety and well-being. Please note: A valid driving licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle are strictly required for this role.

Key Responsibilities (The Role)

Personal Care: Assisting clients with daily hygiene routines, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Medication Support: Prompting, assisting with, or administering medications in accordance with the client's care plan.
Nutritional Support: Preparing meals and drinks, and assisting clients with eating if necessary, while monitoring dietary requirements.
Domestic Tasks: Completing light housework, such as cleaning, laundry, washing up, and running local errands (e.g., grocery shopping).
Companionship: Building positive relationships, providing emotional support, and engaging in conversations to help prevent isolation and loneliness.
Health Monitoring: Observing and reporting any changes in a client’s physical health, mental well-being, or living environment to the care manager.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate, up-to-date daily logs of the care provided and tasks completed.

Essential Requirement: Driver with a Personal Vehicle
Because this is a community-based role, the ability to drive and having access to your own car is mandatory. This requirement is essential because:

Travel Between Homes: You will be required to travel between multiple clients' homes throughout the day across Corby, Kettering, and neighboring villages. Public transport is not a viable option to meet the strict time schedules of care visits.
Prompt and Reliable Service: Clients rely on you arriving on time for essential needs, such as morning medication or meal preparation. A personal vehicle ensures reliability and efficiency.
Client Errands and Appointments: You may be required to drive to local shops for client groceries, collect prescriptions from pharmacies, or occasionally escort clients to medical appointments and community outings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

A valid UK driving licence and access to a reliable car (with relevant business insurance).
A caring, empathetic, and patient nature.
Medication Administration Training
Manual handling Training
REfresher or Mandatory Care certificate
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
Previous experience in care is preferred but often not essential as full training is usually provided.
Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract, Temp to perm, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
