You demonstrate strong capability in waste management through your expertise in compliant segregation, packaging, labelling, and disposal practices. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of over 70 waste, radiation protection, delivery and environmental professionals providing support to decommissioning and radioactive waste management projects across the UK.

Provide advice and guidance on segregating, packaging, labelling and storage of waste.

Ability to co-ordinate multiple resources to facilitate disposal.

Provide advice and guidance of isotopic fingerprints & waste stream characterisation documents.

Provide advice and guidance for radioactive/non-radioactive disposal routes.

Ensure all waste is removed from plant/area compliantly with site procedures, Conditions for Acceptance & Waste Acceptance Criteria.

Liaise with Waste Advisor for non-routine wastes including non-radioactive waste (non-hazardous/hazardous).

Provide information to Waste Advisor for Waste Clearance Forms/Waste Routing Reports.

Act promptly on non-compliance issues/participate in investigations where required.

Represent plant/area at Stakeholder meetings.

Coach and mentor junior members of the team, including graduates and apprentices.

Provide information for waste forecasts.

Support other team members, sharing knowledge and experience.

Responsible for the safe delivery of specified site-based work packages.

Responsible for the management of project wastes in line with Waste Management Plans.

You should have a good understanding of the waste hierarchy and an awareness of waste routing and acceptance criteria / conditions for acceptance for these routes (VLLW, Combustible, Metallic Waste Treatment, LLW, ILW and PCM).
