If so, then the Council is looking for a Digital Assets and Contracts Officer to support its Digital Services team in delivering our ICT operations, maintaining our data records, supporting new ICT projects, and assisting our ICT customers and partners.
The Role
The Digital Assets and Contracts Officer will strengthen an effective ICT team to support BAU operations, facilitating all aspects of Council business. You will provide essential support in areas relating to ICT assets for service delivery, data management and user security, administrative and contract support, supplier relations, project support and helping the service achieve value for money.
Key Responsibilities:

Asset allocation/monitoring/preparation for council users at part of the council’s Joiners, Movers, Leavers’ process – Laptops/PCs/Mobile Phones/Landlines etc.

Working with our third-party infrastructure and security provider’s engineers to enable Joiners, Movers, Leavers at the council.

Support the management of the council’s asset database.

Support and undertake Asset Warranty management and organise asset repairs.

Assist corporate asset disposal and storage.

Support the Legacy Mobile Phone Replacement Project overseeing the rolling replacement of older mobile stock.

Support the provision of corporate maintenance support of the Electoral Services dedicated digital assets including valuable technical assistance during election cycles (postal vote opening/election night support).

Providing general queries signposting to council staff in relation to ICT issues and information.

Providing customer assistance by investigating Customer fixes/solving user issues/escalation/raising ICT helpdesk calls and chasing up user queries.

Organise and help deliver the ICT FOI response management and contribution within statutory timeframes.

Using the corporate finance system to create and GRN Purchase Orders.

First stage finance coding and authorisation for the Digital Services cost centre.

Undertake supplier interaction and account queries.

Support new supplier finance account set up.

Support and report upon the ICT systems contracts database to provide contract horizon-scanning and help diarise renewals.

Corporate ICT project and colleague support as required.
What do I need to have?

A strong standard of literacy and numeracy, with excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Competency and confidence with using Windows 11

Very strong MS Excel competency required, including reliable familiarity with core MS office products.

Organised, with strong time management skills.

Logical and detailed in your approach.

Excellent problem-solving and determination skills, willing to persist with issue resolution until resolved.

Keen to develop training and skills (training programme to be developed)

Be a team player and provide a core role within the Digital Services Team.

Be self-motivated – have ability to work through tasks and prioritise your workload.

The ability to learn and adopt new technologies and processes quickly.

Familiarity with setting up Android OS mobile devices.
