Overview
We’re looking for a hands‑on Solar Roofer to join our small and growing, family‑run team. If you’re a solid roofer who’s already been fitting solar for someone like Octopus, or you’re a good roofer who wants to do more in renewables, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll be out on site most days, working alongside our electricians to get clean, tidy solar installs onto pitched and flat roofs. We care more about careful workmanship and how you treat customers than how many jobs you can rush through in a day.
Responsibilities
- Fit solar PV mounting systems and panels on tiled, slate, metal and flat roofs
- Carry out roof checks to look at condition, best access, fixing points and cable routes
- Mark out, fix brackets and rails properly into structure (not just into tiles)
- Remove and reinstate tiles/slates, making sure everything is fully watertight
- Work with our electricians to agree panel layout, cable entry points and kit positions
- Use scaffolding, ladders and safety gear correctly – no shortcuts with working at height
- Flag any roof issues or safety concerns to the office before they become a problem
- Keep jobs tidy, look after customers’ properties and be friendly on site
- Help with smaller remedial roof works related to our PV installs when needed
- Follow our install standards and H&S processes, and give input if you see a better way of doing things
Skills & Experience
- Strong roofing background on pitched roofs (flat roof experience is a bonus)
- Experience installing solar PV already is ideal – especially if you’ve been working on jobs for Octopus or similar – but we’ll support good roofers to upskill. Don't fret if you've not done slate.
- Comfortable working at height and using harnesses / fall‑arrest gear
- Good eye for detail, particularly around fixings and weatherproofing
- Able to read and follow drawings and manufacturer instructions
- Easy to get along with, customer‑friendly and happy working as part of a small, close‑knit team
- Reliable, organised and able to take pride in a job done properly, not just quickly
- Full UK driving licence required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
