Working Pattern: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with flexibility to work additional days to provide holiday and sickness cover. As the company continues to grow, there will be the opportunity for the role to develop into a full-time position.

Kendall Care Limited is a growing healthcare organisation providing Supported Living, Domiciliary Care, Complex Care and Healthcare Staffing services across the South of England.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team. This is an office-based position offering flexible part-time hours and an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow their career within a successful and expanding organisation.

Overview
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to support our finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, supporting credit control, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the finance department.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team. Flexibility, professionalism and a commitment to accuracy are essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Finance
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks
- Process purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions accurately
- Process supplier invoices and prepare payment runs
- Carry out daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Monitor cash flow and assist with financial reporting
- Process supplier payments and staff expenses
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with HMRC submissions
- Process and reconcile weekly and monthly payroll
- Ensure payroll submissions are completed accurately and on time
- Support month-end and year-end accounting procedures
- Produce financial reports for senior management
- Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting
- Maintain organised filing systems for invoices, receipts and financial documentation
- Assist external accountants and auditors by providing financial records and supporting documentation
Credit Control
- Chase overdue customer accounts by telephone, email and written correspondence
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies
- Resolve customer account queries professionally and promptly
- Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities
- Reduce aged debt and improve cash collection performance
- Build positive relationships with customers while ensuring prompt payment of invoices
General Administration
- Provide administrative support to the Finance Department
- Maintain customer and supplier account records
- Support finance projects and continuous process improvements
- Perform general administrative duties relating to finance operations
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or an Accounts Assistant role
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (experience with Sage or Xero is advantageous)
- Experience processing weekly and monthly payroll
- Experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and credit control
- Good understanding of VAT, PAYE, pensions and general accounting principles
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing positively within a team
Desirable
- Experience within the Health & Social Care sector
- Payroll experience within a multi-site organisation
- Knowledge of HMRC payroll submissions and pension auto-enrolment
- AAT qualification (or working towards one)
- Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting
