Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, tooling, and CAD/CAM software, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Programme, set up, and operate CNC machines
- Interpret technical drawings and CAD files using and CAD software
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures to ensure precision machining
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations during programming and machining processes
- Ensure all parts meet quality standards through inspection and testing
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in CNC machining or programming, particularly with router experience
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, DDX Easywood or B.suite; experience with CAM programming is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machine operation techniques
- Familiarity with assembly procedures is desirable but not essential
- Ability to use various measuring instruments accurately
- Strong understanding of basic math principles relevant to machining tasks
- Knowledge of safety standards within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Previous experience working with Wood or in a similar manufacturing setting is preferred
