About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook to join our catering team at Castle Hill Centre in Bolton.
Working within a busy school and café environment, you will support the Cook Supervisor in delivering high-quality meals and hospitality services while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys preparing fresh food, working as part of a team, and takes pride in delivering a great service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook school meals and café food to a high standard
Assist with menu planning and ensure nutritional requirements are met
Support the delivery of hospitality catering for meetings, conferences, and events
Maintain food safety, allergen, and hygiene standards at all times
Complete food safety records and temperature checks
Order, receive, and manage stock effectively
Serve customers and provide excellent customer service
Carry out general kitchen duties including cleaning and washing up
Support and guide catering team members where required
Assist with cash and card reconciliation processes
Cover the Cook Supervisor's duties when required
What We're Looking For
Food Safety Level 2 Certificate
Previous experience in a catering, school meals, café, or hospitality environment
Experience supervising or supporting a small team
Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety requirements
Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Positive attitude with a customer-focused approach
Reliable, flexible, and a strong team player
