Location: Farmer Palmers Farm Park, Wareham Road, Poole, BH16 6EU
Hours
Approximately 16 – 20 hours per week, flexible hours with additional hours available during busy periods, seasonal events, holidays, and for special projects.

Job Overview
We are seeking a practical, proactive, and reliable maintenance person to join our team at our busy Children's Farm Park. This is a varied, hands-on role requiring a wide range of maintenance, repair, cleaning, and site improvement tasks to ensure our attractions, facilities, and grounds remain safe, clean, and enjoyable for visitors throughout the year.
The successful candidate will be able to identify maintenance issues, carry out repairs independently, and support the creation and setup of seasonal attractions and events.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds Maintenance
- Grass cutting, strimming, and general grounds upkeep
- Hedge trimming and landscaping duties
- Fence repairs, installation, and maintenance
- Maintaining outdoor visitor areas to a high standard
General Maintenance & Repairs
- Painting and decorating
- Basic carpentry and handyman repairs
- Routine maintenance of buildings, equipment, and attractions
- Identifying maintenance issues and carrying out repairs proactively
- Assisting with site improvements and development projects
Play Area & Equipment Maintenance
- Deep cleaning and maintenance of indoor play areas
- Cleaning and maintaining bouncy castles and inflatable equipment
- Maintaining sand play areas and associated equipment
- Repairing and servicing pedal tractors and go-karts as required
- Carrying out routine safety inspections and minor repairs
Seasonal Event Support
- Assisting with the setup, maintenance, and dismantling of seasonal events including Easter, Halloween, and Christmas
- Helping construct themed displays, structures, scenery, and visitor experiences
- Supporting event teams with practical maintenance and build requirements
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Practical maintenance, handyman, or property maintenance experience
- Ability to carry out a variety of repair and maintenance tasks
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Physically fit and capable of manual work in an outdoor environment
- Positive, flexible, and team-focused attitude
Desirable
- Tractor driving experience
- Carpentry, fencing, landscaping, or construction experience
- Experience maintaining visitor attractions, play equipment, or farm facilities
- Previous experience in a farm park, leisure attraction, or outdoor visitor environment
Additional Qualifications
