The Role
This is a hands-on role within a busy steel stockholding and fabrication environment. The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be working through daily cutting lists, selecting steel from stock, and processing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Duties will include:
- Working through daily cutting lists and production schedules.
- Pulling steel sections from stock using forklifts and lifting equipment.
- Measuring, marking out and cutting steel to customer requirements.
- Operating band saws to cut structural steel sections.
- Using oxy/propane cutting equipment to process plate and steel products.
- Loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
- Picking, packing and preparing customer orders.
- Assisting with fabrication and processing work as required.
- Operating forklift trucks and other workshop equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Carrying out general yard and warehouse duties.
Full training will be provided; however, previous experience within a steel stockholding, fabrication or engineering environment would be advantageous.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years forklift truck experience.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work from cutting lists.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Previous experience working for a steel stockholder or fabrication company.

Applicants must be able to reliably commute to the workplace or relocate before starting employment.
Key expectation: The majority of the role will involve working through cutting lists, pulling steel from stock, and processing orders using band saws and oxy/propane cutting equipment. Experience in these areas would be highly advantageous.

Pay: £550.00 per week
