Full job description

AgriGrub is an insect farming business based on a working farm. We use Black Soldier Fly larvae to produce sustainable animal feed and fertiliser products.

We are looking for a practical, reliable person to join our production team. The main focus of the job will be helping with sieving, drying, handling product, cleaning equipment and supporting day-to-day production.

This is a hands-on position in a small team. The work can be physical and messy at times, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable with practical work and happy to get stuck in.

The job will include:

Operating or assisting with sieving and drying processes
Moving, handling and preparing product
Cleaning equipment and production areas
Keeping work areas tidy and safe
Following basic production, hygiene and safety procedures
Helping the wider team with other production tasks when required

From time to time, the job may also involve supporting other areas of the farm and production process.

We are looking for someone who is:

Reliable and hard-working
Practical and hands-on
Happy doing physical work
Comfortable working in a farm/production environment
Able to follow instructions and procedures
Able to work well as part of a small team
Able to get themselves to and from work reliably

Please note that we are based in a rural location, so public transport is not a practical option for getting to site.

Experience in any of the following would be useful, but is not essential:

Production or factory work
Farm or yard work
Food production
Machinery operation
Cleaning or washdown work
Forklift or telehandler work

Training will be provided for the right person, and you are not expected to have any previous experience of insect farming.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may be required in the future, but this is not expected at the start.

The starting salary is £25,000 per year, paid monthly.

The job will start with a three-month probationary period. If both sides are happy at the end of this period, the position will continue as a permanent role.
