We’re looking for a kind, reliable and upbeat person to join a small support team helping a young male live life to the fullest.

About the role
You’ll support a young man who is non-verbal but an excellent communicator in his own way. He enjoys getting out and about, and values people who are patient, observant and easy to be around.
Support includes:
Personal care and daily routines
Trips out, activities and social outings
Helping with communication and choices
Accessing the community, events and fun experiences
Encouraging independence and confidence
Creating a calm, positive and enjoyable environment
No two days are exactly the same.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Friendly, relaxed and good-humoured
A confident communicator
Comfortable supporting personal care
Reliable and emotionally intelligent
Energetic and happy to get involved in activities
Patient and able to pick up on non-verbal communication
Open-minded and happy to learn
Experience in care is welcome but personality and attitude matter most.
Confident driver with a UK driving license
Bonus points if you:
Enjoy football, theme parks, baking and being outdoors
Have experience with wheelchair users, cerebral palsy and non-verbal communication and/or makaton
Bring positive energy and ideas for fun activities

The role will involve:
· Implementing all aspects of the care plan
· Supporting withaccessing the community and learning activities
· Being proactive, making the daily tasks fun and promoting independence for the young person
· Working in the family home with sensitivity to support the parents/family
· Taking the young person to activities in the local community
Qualifications / ideal experience desirable:
· QCF/NVQ 2/3 or equivalent
· Previously worked with children and young adults with learning difficulties in the home setting
· Excellent communication / listening skills
.PEG Feeding experience preferable
· Ability to understand play and learning to develop skills
· Full clean driving licence
· You will need to be fully conversant with safeguarding children and you will need to be familiar with the legal requirements of the Children’s Act and Legislation pertaining to carers

£14.00 - £15.00 per hour
