Nibble is looking for a chef to deliver outstanding brunch and lunch food service to our lovely customers.
Who are Nibble?
Nibble is a female run independent cafe in Manchester’s city centre.
We do all day brunch, handmade cakes, local coffee and lots for lunch too.
We specialise in making dietary requirements less stressful, providing options for everyone, and making sure that eating out with us is a joy.
We also cater for businesses in and around Manchester, giving them a little slice (literally) of our cafe customer service, wherever they are.
Everything we do in all areas of the business are designed to give our customers the best possible experience, while having a nice time working!
We are a small team of amazing women, who love to laugh while we work.
We are looking for a like minded chef who will be responsible for speedy, consistent, and banging brunch and lunch food service.
Job Overview
This chef will help us deliver amazing brunch options for all dietary requirements, whilst aiding with savoury prep for the week, and helping bake our brownies and other sweet treats.
There will be a mix of service in our upstairs kitchen and prep work in our downstairs basement kitchen also during quieter moments of service.
Time management skills are essential, and the ability to prioritise jobs as listed in our daily handover documents, and to use initiative without being told what to do, fully managing their own section.
This person will ensure that our 5* food hygiene in adhered to, that the kitchen is clean and tidy at all times, and that our allergen policies are followed, We do a lot for people with dietary restrictions, particularly those with coeliac disease, so this is a mega important part of the job here at Nibble.
We are known for our outstanding customer service in all areas of our business, and it is really important to me that this continues. We are a small space, and our upstairs kitchen is in sight and talking distance of customers and you will be expected to follow our above and beyond customer service approach and get stuck in. You must be an outgoing, friendly people person, as talking to customers is unavoidable in our space. This is not a role for someone who purely wants to be out of sight and behind the scenes. On occasion, you will be required to take payments, greet customers, and help front of house if they are under it, as they will help you with prep too.
The café may be small, but don’t be fooled - it gets busy.
You must be able to multitask, manage your time effectively, work quickly, and cope under pressure.
Weekends are of course our busiest time, and we serve a lot of people from a small space.
I am looking for someone who wants to learn and progress in their career (the aim would be that with time and training, a role with more responsibility would be offered in order to take more off of my plate, as business owner, and chef). We are looking to grow our revenue streams, and would love to hire someone to bring fresh ideas and suggestions to help do so, and improve what we do, and our existing kitchen space. We are a small team, so each person makes a big impact.
You’ll be working directly alongside myself (Business Owner and Chef) and our Prep Chef and Baker, who both currently handle the food section of the business. With time, we're hoping to grow the kitchen team and renovate our kitchen spaces.
I am looking for someone who’ll be able to make suggestions, have knowledge of working in kitchens previously, and help me take action on this. We are looking to up-level what we do, and this next person will be instrumental in this.
This is the perfect role for someone who grow within the hospitality industry, make an impact, and develop skills for running a kitchen, managing a team, or even running their own business further down the line!
