Job Introduction

Environmental Compliance Officer

Salary: £44,043 - £47,634

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Wolverhampton, with home working as part of a flexible working arrangement.

Job Type: Permanent

Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Compliance Officer to join us at Wolverhampton Homes. This role is all about helping us operate responsibly and sustainably - identifying environmental risks, improving practices, and embedding environmental thinking across the organisation. We’re looking for someone who is curious, analytical and motivated to make a difference, with the opportunity to develop your skills and grow your career within a supportive, forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support the identification, assessment and management of environmental risks across the organisation
Analyse environmental, waste and carbon data to drive insight and continuous improvement
Support and embed environmental compliance processes and best practice across teams
Contribute to key initiatives, including carbon reduction and waste management programmes
Influence and support colleagues across the organisation to ensure consistent and effective environmental compliance

About you:

Do you have a genuine interest in environmental sustainability, compliance or risk?
Are you confident working with data and using it to identify trends and opportunities for improvement?
Can you interpret legislation, information and data and apply it in a practical, real-world way?
Do you build strong relationships and feel confident influencing others to adopt better ways of working?
Do you have (or are you working towards) a qualification or experience in environmental, sustainability or compliance - or are you looking to build your career in this area?
